GETTING THE JOB DONE GROWING THE ECONOMY

Budget 2019 keeps our promises by fixing the finances, repairing services and rebuilding our economy.

We're investing in results for Manitobans and continuing on the road to recovery by growing the economy.

  • Manitoba leads the nation in manufacturing capital spending. In 2017, there was a 6.7 per cent increase in manufacturing sales, the highest in 10 years. In 2018, manufacturing sales increased by 4.5 per cent and exceeded $19 billion.
  • Since 2015, private sector self-employment increased by 2.3 per cent, with an increase of five per cent in 2018 alone. Private sector spending on properties increased by 5.5 per cent in 2018.
  • Manitoba has seen record-setting levels of growth in private sector commercial and industrial capital investment including Simplot doubling processing capacity, Roquette constructing the world's largest pea processing facility, Ubisoft expanding its new studio and Canada Goose investing in a new factory.
