Important News and Program Updates
Campground Opening Delays
Most provincial park campgrounds are open for the May long weekend, although many parks have limited water services due to colder spring weather. Campers should be prepared to bring their own drinking water.
Campgrounds in northern Manitoba that were schedule to open on May 15 are still snow covered. Therefore, the following campgrounds in northern Manitoba will have a delayed opening:
- Campers Cove and Pioneer Bay campgrounds in Clearwater Lake Provincial Park are rescheduled to open Friday, May 22.
- The opening of campgrounds in Wekusko Falls, Bakers Narrows, Grass River (Gyles, Reed Lake and Iskwasum Landing) and Paint Lake provincial parks will be delayed until at least Friday, May 29.
- Although the snow melt at higher elevations in western Manitoba is progressing for Duck Mountain Provincial Park, we are still monitoring the conditions. Campgrounds in the Porcupine Hills are still seeing deep snow cover and may also see a delayed opening.
Affected campers with incoming reservations are in the process of being notified.
