The results of competitive bidding on November 8, 2017 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Growth, Enterprise and Trade, resulted in a total of $808,982.20 being added to provincial revenue.
Fifty One lease parcels, covering 4,238.32 hectares (10,472.88 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $773,748.08. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $182.56 ($451.10 per acre).
Silver Hawk Resources Ltd paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Birdtail Field area. The firm paid $667.57 per hectare ($270.16 per acre) as a tender bonus.
This was the final sale scheduled for 2017. The next sale will be held on February 14, 2018. The deadline for posting requests is November 10, 2017.
