The results of competitive bidding on May 15, 2019 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Growth, Enterprise and Trade, resulted in a total of $96,927.16 being added to provincial revenue.
Seven lease parcels, covering 714.96 hectares (1,766.66 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $91,624.80. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $128.15 ($316.65 per acre).
Corex Resources Ltd paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Virden area. The firm paid $645.87 per hectare ($261.38 per acre) as a tender bonus.
This was the second sale scheduled for 2019. The next sale will be held on August 14, 2019 with a deadline for posting requests of May 17, 2019.
