The results of competitive bidding on May 10, 2017 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Growth, Enterprise and Trade, resulted in a total of $66,037.78 being added to provincial revenue.
Three lease parcels, covering 189.141 hectares (467.37 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $64,175.79. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $339.30 ($838.41 per acre).
Plunkett Resources Ltd paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Virden area. The firm paid $653.73 per hectare ($264.56 per acre) as a tender bonus.
This was the second sale scheduled for 2017. The next sale will be held on August 9, 2017. The deadline for posting requests is May 12, 2017.
