The results of competitive bidding on May 11, 2016 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Growth, Enterprise and Trade, resulted in a total of $57,371.25 being added to provincial revenue.
Five lease parcels, covering 269.26 hectares (673.15 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $54,428.85. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $202.14 ($80.85 per acre).
Red River Oil Inc. paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Daly Sinclair area. The firm paid $357.87 per hectare ($143.14 per acre) as a tender bonus.
This was the second sale scheduled for 2016. The next sale will be held on August 10, 2016. The deadline for posting requests is May 13, 2016.
