The results of competitive bidding on May 9, 2012 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Innovation, Energy and Mines, resulted in a total of $2,547,562.47 being added to provincial revenue.
Sixty Eight lease parcels, covering 6753.811 hectares (16,688.66 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $2,496,724.13. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $369.68 ($149.60 per acre).
Tundra Oil & Gas Partnership, paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Daly area. The firm paid $3,510.00 per hectare ($1,420.47 per acre) as a tender bonus.
This is the Second of four sales scheduled for 2012. The next sale will be held on August 8, 2012. The deadline for posting requests is May 11, 2012.
