The results of competitive bidding on February 10, 2016 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Mineral Resources, resulted in a total of $95,835.76 being added to provincial revenue.
Eleven lease parcels, covering 1144.36 hectares (2,827.71 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $87,430.50. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $76.40 ($30.93 per acre).
Tundra Oil & Gas Partnership, paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Pierson area. The firm paid $427.77 per hectare ($173.11 per acre) as a tender bonus.
This was the first sale scheduled for 2016. The next sale will be held on May 11, 2016. The deadline for posting requests is February 12, 2016.
