The results of competitive bidding on February 13, 2013 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Innovation, Energy and Mines, resulted in a total of $735,437.97 being added to provincial revenue.
Eighteen lease parcels, covering 1296 hectares (3202.42 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $723,703.31. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $558.58 ($226.05 per acre).
Mammoth Land Services Ltd., paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Virden area. The firm paid $1,655.18 per hectare ($669.84 per acre) as a tender bonus.
This is the first of four sales scheduled for 2013. The next sale will be held on May 15, 2013. The deadline for posting requests is February 15, 2013.
