The results of competitive bidding on February 9, 2011 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Innovation, Energy and Mines, resulted in a total of $1,331,582.12 being added to provincial revenue.
Sixty lease parcels, covering 3680 hectares (15,764.98 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $1,285,253.68. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $201.46 ($81.53 per acre).
T. Bird Oil Ltd, paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Kirkella area. The firm paid $1,059.03 per hectare ($428.58 per acre) as a tender bonus.
This is the first of four sales scheduled for 2011. The next sale will be held on May 11, 2011. The deadline for posting requests is February 11, 2011.
