The results of competitive bidding on August 9, 2017 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Growth, Enterprise and Trade, resulted in a total of $493,058.90 being added to provincial revenue.
Thirty eight lease parcels, covering 2876.880 hectares (7,108.77 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $467,789.82. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $162.60 ($401.78 per acre).
Corex Resources Ltd paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Virden area. The firm paid $1,111.11 per hectare ($449.66 per acre) as a tender bonus.
This was the third sale scheduled for 2017. The next sale will be held on November 8, 2017. The deadline for posting requests is August 11, 2017.
