The results of competitive bidding on August 14, 2013 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Innovation, Energy and Mines, resulted in a total of $487,333.01 being added to provincial revenue.
Nine lease parcels, covering 896 hectares (2214.02 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $480,597.01. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $536.38 ($217.07 per acre).
Rockwell Resources Inc., paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Manson area. The firm paid $4,517.50 per hectare ($1828.21 per acre) as a tender bonus.
This is the third of four sales scheduled for 2013. The next sale will be held on November 13, 2013. The deadline for posting requests is August 16, 2013.
