Coordination Agreements

Coordination Agreements formalize government-to-government relationships between an Indigenous government, the Manitoba government, and the government of Canada that describe how the parties will interact and work together in the context of child and family services.

A Coordination Agreement may cover issues such as: what happens in case of emergencies, case transfers, information sharing, and other matters. The exact content of a Coordination Agreement will depend on the specific situation and needs of an Indigenous government. It will work to ensure there is coordination of services so that families receive timely services based on the laws that apply to them; and will ensure coordination of services across the laws and service providers.
