Kennedy negotiates a raise
Hoping to be compensated for the added responsibility that came with managing a post and dealing with constant pressure from Northwesters, Kennedy wrote to Chief Factor John McNab requesting a raise upon the expiry of his third contract in 1807. The Governor and Committee denied his request, but McNab promised that if Kennedy was patient, all of his efforts and dedication would eventually be rewarded.
