Provincial Flood Control Infrastructure: Review of Operating Guidelines

In the fall of 2013, the Provincial Flood Control Infrastructure Review of Operating Guidelines Panel was established by the Government of Manitoba. The panel’s mandate was to review and make recommendations on the operating rules and guidelines of several of Manitoba’s major flood control structures: the Red River Floodway, the Portage Diversion, the Fairford River Water Control Structure and the Lake St. Martin Emergency Channel Outlet.

Six public open houses were held early 2015 to gather input. The panel also met with representatives of rural municipalities, First Nations, and other stakeholder groups.

The final report (PDF, 4.55 MB) by the Provincial Flood Control Infrastructure Review of Operating Guidelines Panel is now available.
