New Daly Overpass on PTH 10 in Brandon

Project description

The 3-year project involves the construction of a new four-lane bridge with a separate pedestrian and active transportation bridge. The design will also include a new on and off ramps to connect 18th Street with Pacific Avenue, new pathways, sidewalk and pavement upgrades. In addition to the extensive bridge and road construction, the project requires demolition of several properties including the over a 100 year-old Kullberg’s building, as well as relocation of multiple public and municipal utilities.

Project updates

Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure (MTI) is currently tendering the replacement of the 58-year old Daly Overpass in Brandon. The Daly Overpass is an existing bridge that crosses the CP Mainline and forms a critical component of the road system in Brandon and the greater Brandon region. Construction of the new overpass will run approximately from November 2021 to the end of 2023, with the final finishing touches taking place in Summer 2024. Traffic will be permitted on the overpass using one lane in each direction throughout the life of the project, with short, temporary full street closures on occasion. MI will continue to update the public on project status and traffic control through MI website and newsletters.
