When should I apply?
Apply as soon as your pregnancy is confirmed. Make sure your application is complete to avoid a delay in starting your prenatal benefit.
When can I start getting the prenatal benefit?
Once your application is approved you will start receiving your prenatal benefit cheques, this is usually around the second trimester.
How much will my prenatal benefit be?
The amount you may receive is based on your income, to a maximum 162.82 a month.
How long will the prenatal benefit last?
If you are approved you will receive six months of benefits as long as you apply during your pregnancy. After your baby is born, federal child tax benefits are available.
When will I receive my prenatal benefit cheques?
The Healthy Baby cheques are mailed from Winnipeg on the last Friday of every month.
Who can attend a Healthy Baby Community Support Program?
Anyone who is pregnant and/or parenting a baby that is under the age of one.
Is there a cost?
Healthy Baby programs are free and you can attend when it is convenient for you.
