Pre-Approved Food Safety & Traceability Equipment Program


Funding to assist in the purchase of pre-approved common equipment used to monitor and control food safety parameters and to improve traceability systems.

Intake Information

The intake for this program is currently open, funding requests will be accepted from June 22, 2023 to 11:59 pm on February 12, 2024.

Eligible Applicants

  • Agri-food processors
  • Agri-product processors
  • Food warehouses/distributors
  • Indigenous Government/Indigenous individuals, businesses, communities, and organizations, other Indigenous groups undertaking agricultural initiatives
  • Primary producers (traceability only)

Project Timeline

All documents must be submitted by Feb. 12, 2024.

Cost Share Funding

60:40 cost share, up to $30,000 in funding for food safety equipment and 50:50 cost share up to $30,000 for traceability.
