Inspection of gas and oil fired appliance and equipment
Manitoba Hydro Scope:
A licensed gas fitter must install all natural gas equipment and appliances with rating up to 400,000 BTU. An ITS authorized gas inspector will then check the installation to ensure that it has been installed according to all federal and provincial gas code requirements. ITS Inspection Scope:
A licensed gas fitter must install all natural gas equipment where the total input of all units to be connected exceeds 400,000 BTU per hour. ITS authorized gas inspector will then check the installation to ensure that it has been installed according to all federal and provincial gas code requirements.
The purpose of the site inspection is to verify that:
- An appliance/equipment is constructed according to the submitted documentation;
- An appliance/equipment is installed in accordance with the applicable code and the manufacturer’s instructions;
- The fuel features of an appliance/equipment perform the required functions, are set in accordance with the applicable code/standard, are operating within their certified specifications, use certified or approved components and comply with approved standards/codes
- Appliances, equipment and components comply with approved codes and/or standards
