Inland Port Special Planning Area

CentrePort Canada is the largest inland port in North America.  It offers approximately 20,000 acres of industrial land with access to tri-modal transportation, including Canadian National, Canadian Pacific and BNSF railways, a 24/7 global air cargo airport and an international trucking hub.

It is located adjacent to the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport, with CentrePort North within the Rural Municipality of Rosser and CentrePort South within the City of Winnipeg.  CentrePort North is a designated special planning area under The Planning Act, with an Inland Port Special Planning Authority and a streamlined land-development approval process.

The Inland Port Special Planning Authority is responsible for development plan and zoning by-law adoption or amendment, by-law administration and enforcement, and land use planning advisement in general.  It is comprised of representatives from the RM of Rosser, City of Winnipeg, CentrePort Canada Inc., Winnipeg Airports Authority and the Province of Manitoba.
