DESCRIPTION OF DEPOSIT
The quarry is situated in a 200 by 350-foot diorite boss immediately south of the Archean Falcon Lake greenstone belt. The diorite is generally medium to coarse grained, but is finer grained near the margins. Its light to dark grey colour is modified by a greenish cast due to the feldspar. Very finely disseminated pyrite, in varying concentrations, causes pitting during polishing and stains upon weathering.

HISTORY OF EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT
The “Granite” quarry is located approximately 83 miles east of Winnipeg; about ½ mile north of the Trans-Canada Highway and about 3 miles northeast of the village of Glenn.
J. Wirth (Q.C. W75) and G. S. Ruddell (Q.C. W76) staked the properties, 40 acres, in 1946. Later in 1948 the Shoal Lake Granite Company, a three-man partnership was formed. Monumental stone in the form of rough blocks was at first shipped directly to Winnipeg, but by May 12, 1949 blocks were being polished and buffed at the quarry site. The operation ceased in 1951.
On December 23, 1955 the property (Q.C. W75) was assigned to the East Braintree Lithium Corporation Ltd. No work was apparently done and the permit was cancelled in 1958.
J. Donner (Q.C. W877) restaked the properties in 1963. No record of work can be found and the permit was cancelled in 1968.
