Project Description
Main objectives:
The main objective of this project is to characterize in detail the pegmatites from Southern Indian Lake (including South Bay) and investigate their potential to host rare metal element mineralization. Part of this project is also to describe and characterize the Thorsteinson fluorine granite.
Methodology:
- Conduct detailed outcrop mapping of these pegmatites and florine granite;
- Extensive sampling for thin section, mineralogical, geochemical, and isotopic studies;
- Petrographic and mineralogy studies.
Benefits:
Better knowledge of the mineralogy, whole rock geochemistry and age of the pegmatites and Thorsteinson granite. Knowledge of the rare metal potential of these occurrences could possibly open doors for exploration.
