Project Description
Main objectives:
The objective of this study is to decipher the paleo-ice flow history in the north-central region of the Southern Indian Lake basin and sample till for characterization.
Methodology:
- Conduct field work to map the erosional paleo-ice flow record.
- Sampling of till for characterization (geochemistry, clast lithology, grain size, carbonate content, Kimberlite Indicator Minerals).
Benefits:
A strong public geoscience knowledge base is recognized internationally as a key competitive advantage in profiling a jurisdiction’s geological potential and attracting investment in mineral exploration and development. Understanding the paleo-ice flow history of a region and till composition greatly assists drift prospecting approaches in north-central Manitoba.
