Manitoba Prenatal Benefit
What does the benefit provide?
- A six month income supplement to help you obtain healthy foods during pregnancy
- Referral to community Public Health Services and resources
- A connection to early prenatal care
- Referral to a Healthy Baby Community Support program
To apply for the Benefit, you need to:
- Fill out an application form (PDF) which can be downloaded from this site, picked up in medical offices, community agencies, and government offices, or can be obtained from the Healthy Baby Prenatal Benefit Office (phone number below).
- Provide a note confirming your pregnancy.
In order to receive the benefit, you must apply at some point during your pregnancy. The amount you may receive is based on your income, to a maximum 162.82 a month.

Manitoba Prenatal Benefit Forms
- Healthy Baby Prenatal Benefit Application Form (PDF)
- Change in Employment of Family Status (PDF)
This form must be completed by applicants who have a current year income that is significantly less than their net family income from the previous taxation year. - Declaration of Income for Minor Applicants (PDF)
In addition to completing the Manitoba Prenatal Benefit application form, applicants 18 years and under, who have not filed an income tax return must complete this form. Applicants who do not have a Social Insurance Number (SIN) must also include a completed copy of the SIN application form. Download a SIN application form (PDF).
