GETTING THE JOB DONE FOR MANITOBA FAMILIES
Budget 2019 keeps our promises by fixing the finances, repairing services and rebuilding our economy.
We're investing in results and continuing on the road to recovery by supporting Manitoba families including:
- increasing funding for Community Living and disABILITY Services by $13.6 million to $439.5 million;
- investing more than $1.4 million to provide operating support for an additional 496 child-care spaces as of September 2019;
- creating a new, $2-million home ownership program to both provide first-time homebuyers with renovation assistance and help create new homes for eligible clients;
- continuing funding for the Child Care Development Centre Tax Credit, which supports partnerships with the private sector to encourage the development of more child-care spaces;
- investing nearly $400,000 to provide dental, denture and optometrist services through professional service agreements for those receiving employment and income assistance;
- investing an additional $523,000 as part of the ongoing Family Group Conferencing Program expansion to divert children from the child welfare system by using a collaborative decision-making framework; and
- increasing funding for employment and income assistance recipients using transit or cemetery services by $165,000.
