GETTING THE JOB DONE IN EDUCATION
Budget 2019 keeps our promises by fixing the finances, repairing services and rebuilding our economy.
We're investing in results for Manitobans and continuing on the road to recovery by supporting education including:
- increasing primary and secondary school funding by $6.6 million;
- increasing kindergarten to Grade 12 capital funding by more than $56 million to support structural repairs, roof replacements, new mechanical systems and accessibility projects;
- investing in classrooms, facilities for special needs students and major additions at École Noël-Ritchot in the Division Scolaire Franco-Manitobaine and Mitchell Elementary in the Hanover School Division;
- providing additional funding for existing education capital projects including new schools in Brandon, Niverville, Winkler and Winnipeg; and
- investing more than $22 million, and leveraging more than $20 million in matching contributions, to support scholarships and bursaries for undergraduate post-secondary students.
