Pilot Plant


At the Food Development Centre, clients manufacture food and food ingredients for research, market tests and commercial distribution. 

Features of our 41,925 square-foot pilot plant include:

  • Production-scale pilot plant
  • Five processing suites
  • Three incubation suites 
  • Packaging line and production line designed for bars and baked goods
  • Bottling line with capacity to produce up to 7,000 units per day
  • Assistance and supervision by pilot plant staff

Pilot Plant Equipment:

Entrepreneurs can rent equipment and space to produce and package products, allowing clients to generate revenue while building their business. 

Attached is a current list of equipment that you can rent and take off site to your place of business or a Commercial Community Kitchen. For more information on equipment rental, please contact the Pilot Plant Manager at the Food Development Centre.
