Additional information required for the High School Apprenticeship Program.

If you are from a non-funded independent school or are being homeschooled and would like academic credit, we need an additional step upon submitting your apprenticeship application. You can do one of two things:

  • You can register with a school so that the school can assess you and grant you academic credits. If this is the option you are proceeding with, a letter from the school must also be submitted with the apprenticeship application; OR
  • If you do not want to register with a school, you can be endorsed by the Home School Program of Manitoba Education. The Home School Program can submit a letter or email us stating that they will be responsible for assessing the student for HSAP credit. Contact homeschooling@gov.mb.ca or 1-800-262-8069 ext. 8138.

If you are a mature student, to participate in the HSAP program, we require the following: completion of Manitoba’s grade 9 Math and English (or their equivalents) or be assessed with current standing in Manitoba Grade 10, 11 or 12 Math and Grade 10, 11 or 12 English.
